Our Legacy

In 1830 Michael Thonet began his experiments with what became known as "bentwood" furniture.

Chair No. 14 known as the 'chair of chairs' was created in 1859. The innovative bending technique allowed for industrial production of a chair for the first time ever.
Modern furniture design is connected to the Mid-Century Modern movement.
